Cosmic Crisp® galette

Ingredients
- 1 sheet pie dough (approx. 250 g), homemade or shop-bought
- 3 Cosmic Crisp® apples (approx. 500–550 g), thinly sliced
- 100 g brown sugar
- Juice of 1 lemon (approx. 30 ml)
- 1 egg + 15 ml water
- 1–2 tbsp turbinado sugar (approx. 15–30 g)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C and line a large baking tray with baking paper.
- Place the pie dough on the baking paper. If homemade, roll it out on a floured surface until about 3–6 mm thick and 30–35 cm in diameter.
- In a large bowl, mix the apples with the brown sugar and lemon juice until evenly coated.
- Arrange the apples in the centre of the dough, leaving a 5 cm border around the edges.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the apples.
- Whisk the egg with the water and brush the egg wash over the crust.
- Sprinkle with turbinado sugar if desired.
- Bake for 25–35 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the apples are soft. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
